West System Is The Leader In Epoxy

Epoxy for your exact needsMade Simple With WEST SYSTEM

A balance of physical and mechanical properties is necessary for a versatile, high-quality epoxy. We've defined this performance criteria by designing a formula through good chemistry, rigorous testing, skilful shop work, and direct experience.

WEST SYSTEM's two-part (resin and hardener) epoxy systems are developed for long-lasting repairs to high-performance composites. Allowing the user to tailor the epoxy to their exact needs without losing performance is what WEST SYSTEM has always been about.

Don't toss out that old can just yet!

Epoxy shelf life is one of the most misunderstood topics we get questions about. WEST SYSTEM Resin has a shelf life of three years and hardeners two years, but passing that date doesn't mean the product has gone bad.

Can two completely different fiberglass fabric combinations land at the exact same cured thickness? We put it to the test.

The secret is knowing how to use the thickness chart before you start laying up. WEST SYSTEM Technical Advisor Avery walks through exactly how in the full video (linked in bio! 🔗)

You've probably heard it before: don't put gelcoat over epoxy. But is it actually true?

We put it to the test. Both an epoxy panel and a polyester panel were sanded through 80, 120, 220, and 400 grit and finished with gelcoat to see how well it held at the feathered edge. The result? Clean edges on both panels. No flaking, no ghosting, no difference in adhesion.

That's the feather edge test. We ran two more after this one. See all three test results in the full-length video on our YouTube channel!
